Even More About PoliesJust random notes this time I couldn't fit into the big overview, haha.
At some point in a polymorph's lifespan-- when they reach maturity, when they overcharge for the first time, or some other unknown reason-- they gain special markings at certain spots on their body. These markings persist throughout all forms, and are completely unique to that specific poly; normally they glow when the poly is fully charged or using magic, but some polies have enough of a constant charge going for them to stay lit up constantly unless they're completely exhausted or ill.
The markings can appear anywhere on the poly's body and in different numbers; Icarus is pretty much covered in them, Zaffa only has them on her heads, back of hands, and hips, and Katrine has a single marking on the small of her back. The number of markings doesn't seem to affect anything. When inactive, they show up as a slightly darker shade of the fur surrounding them.

More on PolymorphsGeneral Overview:
Polymorphs are biomagitek constructs! They're organic-looking, are programmed and have technological quirks like bugs and requiring to be recharged, and are powered by and can use magic. They're a smarter, more flexible, and longer-lived variant of your run-of-the-mill golem; instead of using a mass-produced core, each poly core is handmade and programmed by the researchers that originally developed them.
While golems are extremely common, polies are a lot rarer. When fully grown (about a year or two), they have intelligence on the same level as your average 16 year old human, and as such their original purpose was scrapped and they became recognized as essentially being artificial people. There is only one "family" of polies around at the time.
In this 'verse, golems are essentially magitek creatures that behave more like robots than anything alive. They suffer from a lot of issues, like a short lifespan (under a year) and needing to be heavily reprogrammed

My friends used to call William "Ironman" because the first time we kissed he got a nosebleed and the taste of his blood haunted me for a long time after it. We'd only been twelve years old and apparently the anxiety spiked his blood pressure to the point of combustion... I remember that when we were forced to take sex ed a few years later we were divided into separate classes for boys and girls, in case a diagram of an ovary was too risqué and we became animalistic and started clawing at each other in our seats, but nonetheless when our teacher Ms Jacobs had explained to us what an erection was in my mind all I could picture was the blood rushing to his nose and then the slash of cranberry across my blouse.
With the idea planted in his mind it didn't take long for William's hands to start wandering, but the image persisted. Every time I thought about just letting it happen I wondered what would happen if he got too excite
